Academics
At Milestone Center for Cognitive and Language Development, academic programs for special needs children are thoughtfully designed to honor each child’s unique learning profile while promoting cognitive growth and communication development. Every student benefits from an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) that outlines realistic, personalized goals based on their strengths, language abilities, and developmental needs.
The school follows the Cambridge University curriculum developed specially for children. We focus on 4 key subject: Math, English, Science and General Knowledge.

The center emphasizes visual learning strategies—such as picture schedules, visual timetables, and hands-on activities—to support comprehension and independence. Classrooms are purposefully structured to be predictable and low-stimulus, ensuring children feel secure and focused in their learning environment.
Instruction at Milestone often incorporates multisensory approaches, blending visual, tactile, and auditory methods. Whether its using music to reinforce math concepts or letting students trace letters in textured materials, lessons are interactive and engaging. Educators thoughtfully integrate each child’s personal interests to enhance motivation and deepen understanding. Regular sensory breaks and access to calming tools—like swings, fidget items, or quiet zones—are available to support emotional regulation and sustained attention.
Recognizing the challenges many autistic children face—such as sensory sensitivities, communication barriers, and executive functioning difficulties—Milestone provides targeted support through small group instruction, one-on-one interventions, and therapies including speech, occupational, and behavior therapy. Assistive technologies, like AAC apps or speech-generating devices, are used to empower communication and learning.
Social skills development is also woven into daily routines through peer interaction, group activities, and guided play. With its holistic and compassionate approach, Milestone Center fosters an environment where every autistic child is given the opportunity to learn, express themselves, and thrive.
