Milestones center for cognitive and language development participated in the exclusive exhibition arranged by the DEPD on 3rd December 2025, marking the international day for persons with disabilities themed “Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress

EBM Trip
Students of Milestones recently visited the English Biscuit Manufacturers Ltd., and took a tour of the factory. The EBM team led by Ms. Shirley Noel, greeted the students warmly and explained the entire process of manufacturing biscuits in the factory in the form of an animated video that the students loved very much. They were taken around the various departments and shown the actual biscuits being produced at the time. After a very informative tour, the group was provided with chilled juices and freshly baked biscuits direct from the line! All students also received exclusive goodie bags with a framed group photo taken moments earlier.

MCT therapists attend SOP Refresher and Training Workshop
Special Olympics Pakistan arranged a Young Athletes Coaches Refresher and Training Workshop on Thursday, 10th of October at Dawood Public School Karachi.. This session offered a comprehensive refresher on the Young Athletes curriculum and introduced the newly launched Year-Long Young Athletes Lesson Plan developed by Special Olympics International.
Young Athletes is a play-based early childhood program designed for children with and without intellectual disabilities, aged 2 to 7 years. It aims to develop key sports skills such as running, kicking, and throwing, while also supporting cognitive and social-emotional growth. The program encourages all children and their families to be part of the Special Olympics community, fostering inclusion and teamwork. Previously, the program followed an 8-week curriculum. However, with the introduction of the Year-Long Lesson Plan, the enhanced approach will significantly benefit the athletes, promote physical activity, healthy habits, and continuous learning.
Ms. Sibaal Faisal and Ms. Aarti Doultani represented MCT at the day-long workshop along with nominees from more than 42 schools and institutions. Apart from understanding the basic framework of the Special Olympics Pakistan, the attendees participated in several activities and exercises meant to teach them new skills. The program will continue throughout the year.


Visit by MCT Advisory Board Members
Members of the International Advisory Board visited Milestones recently. The group included Mr. Ali Rizvi, Captain Shuja Rizvi, Ms. Aliya Rizvi and Ms. Tabassum Agha. They took a round of the new premises and interacted with the staff and children. They were also briefed about the curricular and co-curricular activities taking place in the School.
Ms. Fauzia Javed briefed the guests about the functioning and progress of the School, the achievements so far and the shortfalls that need to be met. The Board members appreciated the management’s efforts and distributed goodie bags among the students. They also discussed fundraising opportunities abroad and how they can help in covering the current shortfall of the School.
Hot FM 105 hosts Ms. Fauzia Hussain on ‘Jaan Hai to Jahan Hai’
One of Pakistan’s most tuned into radio channel, HOT FM 105 hosted Ms. Fauzia Hussain on their program ‘Jaan Hai to Jahan Hai’ on October 22, 2024. Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah hosted the program titled ‘Down’s Syndrome Awareness and MCT’s role in the society’. The discussion revolved around the conditions of occurrence of Down’s Syndrome, its detection during the first 1000 days of the child’s life and adaptations in the house and school for the child. MS. Fauzia also highlighted MCT’s role in nurturing such children at the School. The participants of the program agreed to hold programs of such nature in the future also.


Interactive Session of parents and al-Hamd Shariah Advisory Services
An interactive session was scheduled for parents and representatives of al-Hamd Shariah Advisory Services at Milestones recently. The aim of the session was to have a need-based assessment of the parent body and the percent of parents who are being given subsidy of any kind.
The representative held one-to-one sessions with the parents over two days and collected their relevant information. They will then analyse it and let us know how much donations can we get from companies.


‘Milestones’ field trip to the British Council Library Karachi
The staff and students went for an educational and fun filled field trip to the British Council Library, Karachi. The program was especially designed by the British Council team after thorough research to cater for special needs children. This was the first visit of such nature for the BCL staff also.
The students were welcomed warmly by Libraries Manager, Ms. Humera Fatima and her team. The events of the day included a coloring activity and a round of the library for the students. The library team also arranged for an exclusive sing along session with renowned artist Khalid Anum.
Ms. Humera has shown keen interest in holding storytelling sessions at the School in the future.








Bilal Maqsood Visits Milestones
Renowned artist, singer and songwriter, Bilal Maqsood and his wife Tina visited Milestones and engaged with the students. Bilal has been affiliated with MCT since 2009 and a very significant donor to the school over the years. Our bonds have strengthened beyond the monetary contributions to those of personal belonging, mutual respect and admiration. Our students paid him a tribute by singing his hit songs. Bilal also enthralled us with his exceptional ability to draw with both hands simultaneously. He also taught the students one of his new songs and sang along with them.




MCT athletes shine bright at the SOP sports meet
We’re beaming with pride as our 7 young athletes brought home 7 medals, showcasing their exceptional skills in various games!
Students from MCT participated in a day-long Special Olympics Pakistan Inter School Developmental Sports Skills Competition on Tuesday October 8, 2024. This was an exciting event that showcased the multi-sport skills, abilities and interests of our athletes. Caitlyn Espinheiro, Xunairah Babar, Bakhtawar Aziz, M. Saad Saleem, Abdullah Abid, M. Aly Zaki and Meikael Mustafa Khan bagged medals in their respective events including football, dribbling, zig zag racing, target hitting etc.
